I only want certain podcast's transcribed, is this possible?

Yes, you can enable transcripts on a per-podcast basis with our new AI Assistant.

How much do episode transcriptions cost?

According to your plan, you receive a certain number of credits each month. They reset on the first of each month for you to have access to all your credits for the new month.

Castos Plan Transcript Credits Per Month
Essentials 10
Growth 25
Pro 100

How is one credit used?

Each time a transcript is generated, it would use one credit. So each time you upload a new episode file and save as draft, schedule or publish the episode, it would trigger a new transcript. (If you have enough credits remaining)

What is the maximum episode length that can be transcribed?

Five (5) hours

How do I purchase more credits for transcripts?

At the moment it is not possible to purchase more credits, but reach out to support and we’ll see how we can help you.

Would unused credits roll over?

Credits that are allocated to your hosting plan do not rollover to the next month; however, credits purchased on top of your plan allotment will roll over.

When do credits reset?

On the first of each month you would get access to all your credits again.

Can I use my credits for all of my podcasts?

Credits are shared by all podcasts in your account. Any podcasts with transcripts enabled would use a credit to generate a transcript.

What episode file types can be transcribed?

All Castos-supported file types can be transcribed. MP3, M4A, and MP4.

Are the transcripts diarized?

Yes. Diarization is automatically enabled when multiple speakers are detected.

How many speakers are supported for diarization?

Diarization will work for up to 10 speakers.

Are non-English episode transcripts supported?

Yes, Castos supports transcriptions for English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Hindi, Japanese, Chinese, Finnish, Korean, Polish, Russian, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Episodes must be longer than 60 seconds to be able to automatically detect and transcribe the audio in the correct language.
