Show Custom Fields in WordPress

WordPress custom fields add extra information to a post type like a post, page, or the Seriously Simple Podcasting custom post type podcast.

By default, custom fields are hidden.

Jump to Enable custom fields from the block editor

Enable custom fields from the classic editor


Block Editor

  1. Edit any post or page.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu ︙ then select Preferences

  1. From General → Advanced, toggle Custom Fields and click Show & Reload Page:

Classic Editor

  1. Edit any post or page.
  2. Click Screen Options tab and check the Custom Fields checkbox:
