Receive Spotify Analytics in Castos

Spotify Analytics Dashboard

Because Spotify downloads and serves your episodes directly from their platform, Castos cannot directly track listens. Instead, we use an API integration with Spotify that lets us retrieve listens aggregated by Spotify directly into your Castos Analytics dashboard.

If you used the Castos -> Spotify integration to submit your show to Spotify

If you used our integration to submit your show to Spotify, you can find your Spotify analytics by going to Analytics -> Spotify tab.

If you did not use the Castos -> Spotify integration to submit your show

If you submitted your show to Spotify via your own Spotify for Creators account or via an integration with a previous host:

  1. Make sure Spotify is using your Castos RSS feed
  2. Add your Spotify show URL to your Distribution Links at your podcast Settings -> Website -> Distribution Links

Things to know

  • It can take 24-48 hours for us to begin ingesting analytics on your behalf after you either submit the show or set the Spotify Distribution link
  • We ingest Spotify analytics once per day so as to not overwhelm their API.
  • If you have a newly submitted show and don't see analytics after 48 hours, this is usually because a listen has not yet been recorded on Spotify's end or the initial listen occurred after we ingested analytics for the day
  • SSP Users - in order for Castos to ingest your Spotify analytics, they must use your Castos RSS feed, not your SSP RSS feed. We only have permission to ingest analytics for feeds containing the Castos domain.
