Podcast chapters appear in the RSS feed using the Podcasting 2.0 <podcast:chapters>
tag and in the episode description as clickable timestamps for podcast apps that support it. You can find more information about this tag and supporting apps here.
Chapters will also be sent to YouTube via YouTube Republishing and be available under the notes, allowing for users to quickly skip ahead to certain sections of the episode.
Manually create episode chapters
- From the episode page, find the Chapters box and click Add Chapter
- Input the start time for the chapter (
hour:minute:second
format) - Add a title for the chapter
- Continue adding chapters as desired
Generate chapters with AI Assistant
Note: While the AI Assistant offers transcripts in multiple languages, generating chapters is limited to episodes in English.
Chapters can be generated by the Castos AI Assistant and are tied in with transcripts.
Once Chapters is enabled from AI Assistant → Chapters, the Assistant will generate both transcripts and chapters at the same time when Generate Transcript is clicked.
Editing AI Assistant-generated chapters: If you want to edit the chapters the chapters that are generated from AI Assistant, save the episode as a draft, wait for the chapters to generate, then edit chapters as desired:
