Change Your Podcast Publishing Workflow from Seriously Simple Podcasting to Castos
Requirements: An active podcast using Seriously Simple Podcasting on a WordPress page syncing over to a Castos account
This help guide is for podcasters who:
- are using Seriously Simple Podcasting to publish and manage their podcast and syncing to Castos
- no longer want to use Seriously Simple Podcasting to manage their podcast, and
- would like switch their publishing workflow to Castos directly

Find your RSS Feed
Is the podcast being distributed using its Castos RSS feed or Seriously Simple Podcasting feed? If you're unsure, you can find your podcast's RSS feed from getrssfeed.com by using your podcast's Apple Podcasts link.
Important: If the podcast is being distributed using the Seriously Simple Podcasting, you'll need to redirect that feed to your podcast's Castos RSS feed (which is found in Distribution → Visibility or Directories) and keep your podcast WordPress site active for about four weeks to ensure all podcast directories have picked up the change. This means that all podcast directories that had your SSP RSS feed will switch to your Castos feed. When the redirect is active, you can start publishing new episodes on Castos.
Check your synced podcast on Castos
- Are all episodes that are on your WordPress site available on Castos? Check your cover art, podcast description, and episodes for descriptions and a working media file. Syncing your podcast from Seriously Simple Podcasting to Castos has taken care of this, but before making the publishing method change, it's good to make sure.
- Are episode descriptions set to full content or only showing excerpts? If the plugin is only syncing episode excerpts to Castos, go to Podcasting → Settings → Feed Details and switch Episode Descriptions from Excerpts to Full Content
Disconnect Seriously Simple Podcasting and Castos
You can disconnect via your WordPress dashboard or Castos.
- Seriously Simple Podcasting: From Podcasting → Settings → Hosting → Danger Zone, click Disconnect. Press OK on the pop-up window to confirm you want to disconnect.
- Castos: From your Castos Account → Publish Settings, press Disconnect. Confirm by reading the pop-up window and pressing Disconnect Your WordPress Site:

- Is your podcast now distributing from (or redirecting to) its Castos RSS feed?
Are Seriously Simple Podcasting and your Castos account disconnected?
If both are Yes, you can now publish and manage your podcast directly on Castos, without using Seriously Simple Podcasting!
Things to note
- Podcast episodes on Seriously Simple Podcasting: Once disconnected from Castos, your podcast feed permanently redirected, you're keeping the WordPress page active, you can remove podcast episodes and/or deactivate/remove the Seriously Simple Podcasting.
- You can embed individual episodes or a podcast playlist player using iframe embed codes
