Import into WordPress with Seriously Simple Podcasting

Use this method if you want to manage your Castos-hosted podcast through WordPress.

Step 1: Import the RSS Feed

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Podcasting → Settings → Import
  2. Enter your current RSS feed URL
  3. Select the podcast to import into (or create a new one)
  4. Check Import podcast data (Title, Description, Cover Art, etc.)
  5. Click Begin Import Now
  6. Click OK to confirm

Step 2: Verify Feed Details

Go to Podcasting → Settings → Feed Details and confirm all podcast metadata imported correctly.

Step 3: Connect to Castos

If you haven't already connected SSP to Castos:

  1. Go to Podcasting → Settings → Hosting
  2. Enter your API token (find your API token)
  3. Click Connect

Step 4: Sync to Castos

  1. Return to Podcasting → Settings → Hosting
  2. In the Sync to Castos section, check the checkbox for your podcast
  3. Click Trigger Sync

Redirect Your Old RSS Feed

Important: Complete this step only after verifying your import is correct. Redirects are permanent.

A redirect tells podcast directories to look for your podcast at its new Castos RSS feed URL. Without a redirect, existing subscribers won't receive new episodes.

Find Your Castos RSS Feed URL

  1. In your Castos dashboard, click Settings for your podcast
  2. Go to Distribution → Visibility
  3. Copy your RSS feed URL

Set Up the Redirect

Instructions vary by host. Here are the most common:

Host Steps
Libsyn Settings → Advanced Tools → Edit (Feed & Website Redirects) → Paste URL in "Feed Redirect URL" → Save
Buzzsprout Podcast Settings → Cancel/Redirect Podcast → Redirect Your Podcast Feed → Follow prompts
Anchor/Spotify for Creators Settings → Distribution → Enter Castos URL → Redirect my podcast
Podbean Settings → Feed → Advanced Feed Settings → Paste URL in "Redirect to a New Feed" → Update Options
Simplecast Podcast Settings → Distribution → Advanced Settings → Paste URL in "RSS Feed Redirect" → Save
Transistor Show Settings → Advanced Settings → Paste Castos URL in "Your RSS Feed to Another URL" → Save Changes
SoundCloud Settings → Subscriber Redirect → Content → Enter Castos URL → Save Changes
Podigee More Options → Enter Castos URL in New Feed URL → Save
Acast Settings → Show redirection → Paste URL → Redirect

Verify the Redirect

Enter your old RSS feed URL in a browser (Chrome or Firefox). It should automatically redirect to your Castos RSS feed.

Keep Your Old Account Active

Keep your previous hosting account active for at least 4 weeks after setting up the redirect. This ensures all podcast directories recognize the change before you close the old account.

Which RSS Feed Should You Use?

If you use WordPress with SSP with Castos, you'll have two RSS feeds:

Feed Best For
Castos RSS feed Most users. Reduces server load on your WordPress site. Used automatically by Castos integrations (Spotify, Amazon).
SSP RSS feed Users who want to keep their domain name in their RSS feed

Both feeds show the same content when configured identically.
